About The Club

The Yarra Old Grammarians Football Club is a not-for-profit sporting organisation competing in the Victorian Amateurs Football Association.

We recently relocated to the Doncaster Reserve on the corner of Doncaster Road and Leeds Street, Doncaster East (approximately 800 metres from the Doncaster Hotel), and are fortunate to have the Manningham Council assisting in building a new sporting pavilion to accommodate us. The Football Club has a large supporter base, with the majority of its members located in the Eastern Suburbs. This year, we will be fielding 3 teams in Division 1 of the VAFA competition. Our Senior team has experienced a great deal of success over the last few years, having made the finals in 2011, we then won the Premiership in 2012, and were Runners-Up in 2013. Our Reserves team has had a similar amount of success, having competed in a number of finals and grand finals in the late 2000’s, they too broke through to win the Premiership in 2012.

The YOGFC prides itself on being more than just a football club. We’re currently aligned with the Ringwood Spiders All-Abilities Sports Club, a club for people with a mild to medium intellectual disability within surrounding areas of outer eastern Melbourne. Our players coach the Ringwood Spiders Football team, and as a Club, we invite the playing members and families of the Spiders to a YOGFC training night where the two Clubs train together annually, and present the players of the Spiders with various awards and encouragement at the conclusion of training.

Yarra Old Boys Helping out with Scope Victoria

We also assist Scope Victoria, a provider of services to people with a disability in Victoria, and one of the largest not-for-profit organisations in Australia. Their mission is to enable each person they support to live as an empowered and equal citizen. As a Club, we built a driveway, re-designed and cleaned up an entire front and backyard, as well as painting all the walls within one of the Scopes properties in the Eastern Suburbs last season. The Club has every intention to continue this relationship with Scope in the future.
